The charge for immediate burial includes removal of remains, local transportation to the cemetery, necessary authorizations and basic services of staff.
An Immediate Burial is normally selected where no viewing, visitation, rites, rituals or ceremonies are planned or conducted. The decedent would be removed from the place of death and arrangements for a burial would be made. The Immediate Burial provides the family with an affordable funeral service option that includes the professional and caring services afforded all families served by Salerno’s Rosedale and Galewood Chapels.
With an immediate burial the body is taken directly from the place of death (or from the morgue) to the cemetery. Normally, the body stops at the funeral home just long enough to secure the death certificate and burial permit – and for the family to buy the cemetery lot. The body is then transported to the cemetery where it will be buried.
Because direct burial does not include a formal funeral or any pre-funeral events, many of the costs of a traditional funeral are avoided.
Our fee for the basic services of funeral director and staff includes, but is not limited to, staff to respond to initial request for service, arrangement conference with family and responsible parties; arrangement of funeral service; preparation and filing of necessary authorizations and permits; recording vital statistics; preparation and placement of obituary notice; and coordination with those providing other portions of the funeral service, e.g., cemetery, vault companies and others as required. Also included in this charge are overhead expenses relative to our facility, such as professional licensing, legal and accounting fees, insurance, building and utility expenses, parking lot and grounds maintenance, taxes, equipment, furnishings, inventory costs, record keeping, and secretarial and administrative expenses.
